Day 7, Cereal

Momma bear syndrome: this is what I call the fact that Olliver thinks whatever I am eating, he should be eating too. So every morning I feed him and then sit down with my cereal and he will spend a long time trying to maneuver his way into getting my cereal. And when I've finished, he'll lick the bowl clean. So now if I mistakenly leave my box of cereal on the table, as I did yesterday, he will tear into the box and try to eat it. So here he is playing with the empty box on the floor while one of our other cats, Tori, looks on in her best "what the eff are you doing, kitten?"

Day 6, BFF

Reginald is my chinchilla. Olliver is fascinated by him. He is always trying to play with, bite, or eat him. I'm not really sure which. But here is him trying to get Reggie out to play, even though Reggie was not even on this tier of the cage.

Day 5, The Couch

So... I was working and I was too tired to update. Sue me. But here are pictures to make up for it. One of Olliver's favorite activities is to go diving in the couch for sparkly balls. We had a bag of them on the couch one time and he lost a lot of them in the couch. But there's another motive for couch diving, which is that Olliver always likes to be next to me. He likes to be in the same room and if you move rooms, he will more than likely follow you. So by playing on the couch, where I am usually sitting, he gets to be near me and play. So here's pictures of his butt waggling out of the couch as he looks for sparkly balls.

Day 4, The Bag

So I had a spare bag from a knitting store sitting on the back of the couch. Olliver decided it would be a prime place to lay down, face first, and wash. This picture is sort of vintage, as in I didn't take it today. But, I worked all day. And it's cute. Be distracted by kitten.

Day 3, Meerkat

Olliver is part meerkat or something. He also must be part ring-tailed lemur because of his banded tail. He stands on his back legs for fun sometimes. As you'll notice in this picture, there is nothing to stop him from jumping up onto the windowsill like a normal cat would do. Instead he stood there for probably five minutes. Long enough for me to find my camera and take a picture, at any rate. If some day cats start walking on two legs, Olliver will turn out to be the missing link. Of this I'm sure.

Day 2, The Walk

So I bought Olliver a harness (purple because he's manly) and a leash to take him on walks through the backyard because he just gets too excited outdoors and I have a hard time getting him back in. So here are pictures from one of his walks, where he excitedly rolled in the dirt, made friends with plants and just generally hunted for imaginary things.

Welcome

So, I have one very adorable, very precocious kitten named Olliver Dazzler. Dazzler is his middle name. People kept telling me he needed his own blog because he was so durned cute. Well, here you go. I'm going to attempt to take a picture every day of something zany or wonderful that he does. He does a lot of zany things. This is day one, where he decided he wanted to take a nap in my lap and crawled underneath my laptop to get there. Here are pictures. And if you're wondering, he's still sleeping there as I post this.
